Complex Choices

As editor, I’m often asked how we choose feature stories. It’s complex. In part, we consider how many Connect Business Magazine copies businesses in a particular city or county receive and divvy up features and cover stories proportionately. For example, we send out more magazines to Brown County (more than 1,200) than to Sibley County (more than 175). So it’s no surprise we feature far more Brown County than Sibley County businesses.

This particular issue highlights Mike Nolan, a North Mankato resident working in Mankato. He fits a wealth of other cover story selection criteria, including being a highly successful businessperson relatively unknown throughout the region, possessing a long business track record, and having the ability to spin a reader-grabbing tale.

In addition, we hope you thoroughly enjoy this issue’s company profiles: Pediatric Therapy Services (Mankato) and Foty Lock & Safe (Fairmont). We expend a great deal of effort trying to find, photograph, and write extraordinary company profiles and cover stories for our loyal readers. This issue was no exception.

As Connect Business Magazine enters its 18th year of publication, we want to thank all the many advertisers over the years wholeheartedly believing in our product and mission. We have done our best to give you our best.
