Picklebarn Scores with Southern Minnesota’s Premeire Pickle Ball Facility

Sidney and Mitch Elofson opened the Picklebarn on Power Drive in Mankato in the fall of 2022 with a full court of options to get you moving and enjoying one of the fastest growing sports in the country.

“We love how pickleball can be enjoyed by so many different people. We can see people three years old all the way up to 90 years old in a day,” Sidney Elofson said.

The Picklebarn provides pickleball classes, leagues, lessons, and open play. Want to give pickleball a try but don’t know how to get started? The Picklebarn offers a free 30-minute introductory lesson and tour. There are also youth tennis lessons for children ages 10 and under and fitness classes. In addition, yoga classes are coming soon.

The Elofsons believe the Picklebarn is the premiere pickleball venue in the Midwest. Its court spacing, lighting, net dividers, cushioned outdoor court surface, climate-controlled building, and other amenities create an ideal pickleball environment for all levels of play.

“We hope the people that play at the Picklebarn can be proud to call the Pickelbarn their home club. We work hard to build relationships with everyone who comes in,” Elofson said.

Pickleball is accessible to everyone, so it allows for endless outreach opportunities. For example, the Picklebarn hosted the first Ronald McDonald charity pickleball tournament, which raised over $65,000 for the Ronald McDonald House. The Picklebarn will also host a military tournament and an Alzheimer’s event, with more events in the works.

“We definitely have a lot of dreams for the future of the Picklebarn,” Elofson said.

Top on that list are outdoor clay tennis and pickleball courts, which the Elofsons hope to add in the next few years. They’re also considering different food options and will offer yard games and food trucks this summer.
