Emily Schoper and Ashley McGowan are in the business of making women look and feel beautiful, offering a full range of luxury beauty services in downtown St. Peter. They opened Fréy Salon and Spa in January 2018, then opened a second business, Säga Beauty Collective, in 2022. 

“We are both owners, senior stylists and business partners. Ashley is also our sole permanent makeup artist. We have been here since the beginning and have 18 years of experience in the Cosmetology industry,” Schoper said.  

After 12 years working at a previous location, the businesswomen were ready for a change when they found the perfect spot. 

“St. Peter lacked a luxury salon experience, and we have been able to grow within the community after realizing quickly our downtown and consumers were ready,” Schoper added. 

Fréy is a full-service salon that provides all hair services, including specialties like extensions and Brazilian Blowouts. Its lower-level spa offers everything from facials to advanced skin treatments like dermaplaning, micro derm abrasion, and chemical peels. It also provides eyelash extensions, lash lifts and tints, body waxing, brow lamination and massage. 

Säga Beauty Collective features a variety of artists and technicians delivering permanent makeup, lash and brow services. It recently added luxury, heated, airbrush spray tanning and permanent jewelry services. In addition, McGowan provides microblading/shading for eyebrows and lip blushing. She will soon add lash line enhancement (permanent eyeliner) to her repertoire.  

Inside Säga, the Skínne Med Spa provides an array of age-defying med spa treatments such as Botox, medical-grade chemical peels and B12 injections. It will add derma fillers in February.  

“We love everything about the beauty industry. How can you not love making people feel beautiful inside and out?” Schoper said. “It is always changing, and every day brings so much joy and laughter.”
